Artist Statement:
For the past 30 years I have studied in watercolor, oils, pencil, sculpture and my most recent, painting on slate. Many of my works of art have been sold as commissioned work where I have done a variety of work in portraits, boats, animals, landscapes and seascapes. I enjoy drawing and painting for people so they can also enjoy a piece of Maine no matter where they are. It is fun to be able to create unique works of art and express what you see as well as feel onto paper. We live in such a beautiful part of the country that I can’t help but want to study it and paint it and I enjoy doing so in pencil where I can work to enhance the contrast I see with dark and lights and in watercolor where I can use the colors in my pallet to enhance the contrast I see before me and express the vibrant colors. Professional Experience:
Employed by Saco printing co.
The Port Village Fire department selected me to do a drawing of the new station to commemorate their grand opening. This drawing turned into prints which were sold for their fund raiser.
I submitted a watercolor painting to the River Club Casino show that was sold and as a result, I did 8 commissioned works similar to the one submitted in the show.
2005, 2006, 2009 provided art work for the American Horse Association of Maine
2009 I was requested by New England Saddlebred Association to submit art for their auction.
I have done many portraits in pencil as well as many watercolor paintings.
Received honorable mention in the River club Casino show
Provided work for the CVA Scholarship fundraiser
